Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best time to plant fruit trees?

Towards the end of wet season, when the ground is soft and the sun is warm. Ideal to get the roots started in the ground.

Do you deliver locally?

Yes we can deliver in the local postcode area, up to Bowen. We also have a courtesy trailer you can borrow to save yourself a delivery fee

Do you sell bulk rocks, mulches and soil?

Yes, we have great bulk piles of the above, plus more! We can load up your ute, truck or trailer (or deliver)

What plants grow best in the tropics?

There is a large range of plants perfect for the tropics, from palm trees, natives and tropical plants. We aim to only sell stock that will grow here. If it doesn’t handle north Queensland weather, we won’t stock it

Where are we located?

in the old Butterfly Effect Nursery, near the golf course in Cannon Valley. We took over this establishment in 2024 and are continuing to run the nursery, as well as introduce the Pool Shop inside.

Do you do landscaping?

We offer landscaping services and planting consultations. For hard landscaping, we pass you on to our sister crew, Down to Earth Whitsundays. But the ladies at the nursery can help you with your planting, mulching and decorating.

How often do I need to test my pool water?

It is recommended every 3-4 weeks to get a water test completed, or more often if you have concerns about your water. During wet season, wait until the rain subsides for a couple of days.

How often do I need to top up the chemicals?

Certain components are recommended to be tested weekly and dosed accordingly. This can be more often during the hotter months when the pool is being used more.

Which chemicals would I mostly need?

Salt, chlorine, acid and buffer are your main pool chemicals. There are many others that are available.

What chemical brands do you stock?

We exclusively stock Zodiac & Australpool, as well as Aussie Gold accessories
