Plant Boss with a Paddle!
She runs the show and the garden beds—when she's not out on the water!
Maree:
Our bubbly Maree is the Manager
Maree is the Manager and Landscape coordinator for our team. Maree worked alongside the previous owners for 3.5years before the Garden Shack took over ownership.
Maree has an extensive knowledge of plants that grow and thrive in the local area, and has an eye for landscaping. She can assist you in building your dream garden! When Maree isn’t at the Shack, she is out paddling on the water or spending time in her own garden.
Kat:
Kat is our full-time all-rounder.
Before working at the Garden Shack, Kat had never gardened before in her life! Now, she has great knowledge of tropical plants that grow well in the Whitsundays and is always expanding her knowledge.
She assists in both the Garden Shack & Pool Shop, can get you loaded up with soils & mulches in the bulk yard and test your pool water!
Tropical Plant Pro in Progress! From beginner to botanical whiz—Kat’s mastered mulch, soil, plants and smiles.
Propagation Queen!
If it’s green and grows, Jules can multiply it.
Jules:
Our Jules is addicted to plants!
She has a tropical rainforest growing outside her kitchen window, and nearly more plants at home than we have in the Nursery!
Before moving to the Whitsundays from Noosa, Jules was part of a Propagating Team and volunteered at the Noosa Botanical Gardens. Because of this, she is a wealth of knowledge and landscape designer. There isn’t a plant that Jules can’t propagate!
Tess:
Tess loves working with nature and working amongst the magic of a thriving backyard.
Tess is an avid home gardener and focuses on helping others cultivate their own green spaces.
She is passionate about bush tucker, wildlife-friendly landscapes, and choosing the right plants for the right place.
She loves sharing her knowledge and offering encouragement along the way!
Bush Tucker & Backyard Magic!
Helping nature thrive, one native plant (and pep talk) at a time.
The Plant Whisperer!
Kate brings calm, care, and green-thumb magic to every plant she touches.
Kate:
Kate keeps things growing beautifully
Growing up between the grapevines and olive trees of South Australia, Kate travelled north in search of beaches and rain, settling here in Airlie Beach.
Everything here is bigger, greener and lovelier, and her dogs love it to! Kate has a great eye for plant care & maintenance.
What is the best time to plant fruit trees?
Do you deliver locally?
Yes we can deliver in the local postcode area, up to Bowen. We also have a courtesy trailer you can borrow to save yourself a delivery fee
Do you sell bulk rocks, mulches and soil?
Yes, we have great bulk piles of the above, plus more! We can load up your ute, truck or trailer (or deliver)
What plants grow best in the tropics?
There is a large range of plants perfect for the tropics, from palm trees, natives and tropical plants. We aim to only sell stock that will grow here. If it doesn’t handle north Queensland weather, we won’t stock it
